Meet Dropshipping.com’s CEO Martin Stoimenov
Dropshipping has a new face and it’s called Dropshipping.com. A fresh source for education and knowledge about the dropshipping space, the site has quickly gained in adoption by the dropshipping community. Through our partnership with Dropshipping.com where they offer Sell The Trend SHOPS as the preferred platform to start dropshipping, we had a chance to sit down and talk with the website Co-founder Martin Stoimenov.
STT: What motivated you to start dropshipping.com?
M: In a world where people are facing a lot of opportunities to start and scale an online business, the information overflow makes the decision-making and the learning process harder for everyone (especially the beginners). Since I and my team are working in the dropshipping industry for more than 10 years, we decided to gather all the experience and data and build the biggest aggregator, knowledge center, and directory for almost everything dropshipping.
STT: What is dropshipping.com? what are you trying to accomplish?
M: We’ve built this free resource center to help online enthusiasts learn, start and grow their dropshipping businesses. On this site, we share everything we’ve learned along the way.
We’ve taken what actually works, and molded it into step-by-step education that beginners and pros can use to start & grow their dropshipping stores.
STT: How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors?
M: We don’t want you to think of us as online gurus.
The truth is, we hate the cheesy side of dropshipping as much as you do. We focus on being as actionable and hype-free as possible. We teach the way we’d want to learn ourselves: by giving honest, practical, advice that almost anyone can follow.
STT: What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
M: The biggest motivation for me as a human being first, then as a company manager is the opportunity to make a difference. Every day we have a unique opportunity to do something better. Something that can impact someone’s life. And of course, having fun while doing it. At the end of the day, it’s not what motivates us, it’s what makes us disciplined. The fact that we have goals to chase, a family to feed, and a message to share is what can wake you up day in, and day out.
STT: What keeps you up at night?
M: Nowadays, it’s easy to stay late the whole night and overthink everything. What really makes me stay up the whole night is planning, learning, and preparing for what’s next in my business journey.
STT: What are your goals over the next 3, 6 and 12 months for dropshipping.com?
M: We have huge plans and milestones to reach in the next year (or 6 months). Our goal is to create and expand Dropshipping.com as the biggest and single resource of knowledge for everyone who wants to start or improve his online business. We are focused on creating more content in any format – in any section on our platform. But the biggest challenge is scaling our academy and dropshipping learning community.
STT: What are some things you learned in the first 3 months after launching dropshipping.com?
M: Running a business, especially a startup is like on a rollercoaster – every day. But working with enthusiastic people, engaging with smart online sellers, and collaborating with some of the biggest companies in the space – have brought me knowledge and experience that cannot be found anywhere else. I’ve learned a lot about leadership, marketing, building big directories, data science, and much more in a span of just one year.
STT: What’s the most important thing you’re working on right now, and how are you making it happen?
M: As I mentioned before, the biggest challenge we are facing right now is building and expanding our academy. Basically, we are building a “mini Udemy” for dropshipping, where mentors and companies are teaching their craft, along with all our resources and tools. Combining everything into an all-in-one platform that’s accessible for everyone is the biggest project our team is working on, and the goal is to create the best experience possible for thousands of drop shippers by the end of this year.
STT: What’s the hardest decision you’ve made so far?
M: I’ve made a lot of small or big decisions to start and keep this project going. But, if I must pick one, I will say – the day we decided to become the biggest learning platform (academy and learning center) instead of just a dropshipping niche blog.
STT: How do you measure success for dropshipping.com?
M: Since there are no “life quality” and happiness measurement tools, we must measure business and marketing success. From that perspective, our success is measured by how many people we serve on a daily basis with content and resources, how many of them actually become sellers or add a few zeros on their monthly revenue streams, and eventually how we improve our platform experience over time.
